MIRADAS COMPARTIDAS- THE MUSICAL “GUSANOS” High Tech Hoteles has participated in a solidarity project run by the Miradas Compartidas cultural association to promote children’s integration through entertainment, a musical entitled “Gusanos”, where the actors were children who had physical or mental disabilities but no trouble at all getting up on stage to perform. To continue with this line of child-appropriate entertainment, hotels in the High Tech chain welcome their youngest guests with bags of sweets for them to enjoy while they read the children’s books and play with the dolls waiting for them in High Tech’s family rooms. |

PETIT PALACE ARANA: 2002-2004 FIRST PRIZE FOR THE BEST FACILITY BUILDING The Petit Palace Arana in Bilbao won first prize as the best facility building in 2002-2004. The prize was given by the Bilbao City Council’s planning refurbishing company, SURBISA, at its ninth annual awards for city planning refurbishing. Thanks to its refurbishment, the Petit Palace Arana is the oldest hotel complex in Bilbao. Founded in the 19th century, it is extremely liveable and aesthetically appealing, two features that helped it earn the award from the panel of professionals. |

Body Shop y el medio ambiente La responsabilidad con el medio ambiente es muy importante para High Tech Hoteles, por ello, todos los hoteles de la cadena están siendo equipados con duchas de alta tecnología y diseño, que además de consumir una quinta parte de agua menos que las tradicionales bañeras, proporcionan relax y bienestar a través de la combinación de chorros que ofrecen un variado repertorio de hidromasajes y de baños de sol. El respeto de la cadena por el medio ambiente se palpa desde el primer momento que el cliente entra en la habitación y es informado a través de una pegatina de las toneladas de detergentes y agua que son empleadas para lavar innecesariamente toallas, entre otras cosas; por ello, pide la colaboración de todos sus huéspedes a la hora de decidir si es realmente necesario cambiar las toallas de la habitación o no, depositándolas en el suelo en caso afirmativo. Para que todo el mundo contribuya al cuidado del medio ambiente, High Tech también dispone de un servicio de alquiler gratuito de bicicletas en sus hoteles y para todos sus clientes que les permite recorrer las ciudades pedaleando y ahorrando en contaminación y gastos de transporte. Sin embargo, la preocupación de High Tech Hoteles no es solamente medioambiental, sino también social, lo que le lleva, desde hace un año, a colaborar con la ONG Solidaridad Internacional que apoya a la organización de artesanos/as SELYN de Sri Lanka. High Tech, mediante la compra de muñecos de tela hechos a mano por artesanos de Kunergala, aporta su granito de arena y contribuye a mejorar las condiciones de vida de cerca de 275 familias pobres del lugar. Los muñecos se encuentran en todas las habitaciones familiares de la cadena, junto con cuentos infantiles, para que los más pequeños disfruten de su estancia como si estuvieran en casa. Además, durante los meses de septiembre y octubre, los clientes encontrarán en los 30 hoteles operativos que High Tech tiene en este momento en toda España, unas muestras de productos de The Body Shop, empresa cuyos valores de sostenibilidad social, económica y ecológica van en la misma línea que los de High Tech Hoteles.
